Hey Y'all, Remember me, I know I wuz gonna be off line for a couple of weeks, but...

Gather round and let me tell ya a little story about plans, confusions, miscommunication, anger and good hearted people.

Our internet was supposed to be shut off yesterday. Next friday, a group of men from our church were gonna come over load up our stuff, follow us to our new place, unload us...

Well over the phone our local u-haul dude said yes I got a truck, it will only cost you this much, and you can drop it off in the town your moving to, just need you to come in tomorrow with a small cash deposit and we will reserve it for you...

Show up the next day, (Tuesday,) and it turns out since we couldn't have the truck unloaded by 4:00 he was gonna charge 2 day rental, and if we dropped it off at the new location, we would not get our cash deposit back, on and on...

My wife was angry and upset, she contacted the men from church, to tell them the move was off and she was going to talk to our old landlord about staying down there and maybe the move wasn't meant to happen...

Wednsday morning at 8:00 she got a call saying start packing we will be there in an hour. Her Ex-husband, his wife, came over and started loading furniture into their vehicles as Julie and I loaded boxes as fast as we could, in a caravan of a pick-up, a station wagon and our old car, we made a total of 4 trips, they busted butt helping us to load everything into an upstairs apartment.

We offered them the price of the u-haul and they would not accept it, they took enough for gas only and lunch at steak and shake.
So here I sit surrounded by boxes, in an apartment we had not planned on moving into for another 2 1/2 weeks.

I had not planned on having internet until after the first, But The day we moved in the local cable/internet truck was in the lot, Julie asked for a local number and that we were interested in getting service later on. The cable guy asked if she wanted him to radio in and get an installation date...Sure, she said, He radio in and the scheduled us for Thursday. It took until Saturday afternoon to find the boxes with the computer stuff in it (always label boxes when moving...yea right.)

This has been a crazy week, I'm sore, disorganized (like normal) but I can see light <s>(in the apartment across the drive)</s> at the end of the tunnel.

And you think the fact the cable truck was there in that precise moment was a fortunate coincidence? Man, where has your healthy paranoia gone? It's all a great big Nazi conspiracy to get us all hooked on ASDL and take it away when the invasion begins. I mean, DUH!

Aaaaanyway... Good to have you back. We need new pictures for captions. Something involving cats is always good.

Now that the Living room, Dining Room & kitchen are done, it feels real good to kick back in the evening and can feel like we have accomplished something.

Todays project is to hide cables for the TV's and computer's, organize the Hall closets and bedroom closets. that should about do it for today.

I think we should have everything done by Thursday.

Thank you NoClouds & Thank You Mum
and Sis I am blessed knowing all of you wonderful people

Lefty, I'll go look for a funny cat picture in just a little bit.

I used to love moving to a new place...opening all the boxes and discovering things all over again...kind of fun...packing my hubbys diecast collection is NOT fun however...he has thousands of 1/24th race cars...and they have to be boxed just right...

I only have a handful of the diecast cars, a couple of Earnharth old #3's. If I can squeeze out another pictur on my camera, I'll try to post them.
